Round Four Begins

On Tuesday, I officially started my training for:

It is on November 27th, so I have about 8.5 weeks to prepare, which is about right.

Here's the scary part. If I have a good day, I really want to come in in 11-something. I had a good day in CP, I didn't taper much, and I did absolutely no speed work, and I came in at 12:09. I just need to find 10 little minutes.

I usually do not do 2-a-days during the school year. It is really really tough. I know it is tough for everyone, but I usually only do those in the summer and on holidays. BUT, you can't keep doing the same thing and expect the same result....so I am doing those 2-a-days, and I was even on a track yesterday morning! Crazy!

So, in the same week, I am re-committing to my nutrition AND my training. Getting up really early to train, training after school/meeting/tutoring, and getting ready to do it again. It is a lot. But I can do it. And I am going to get faster. I know I am ready to get faster. I have a LOT of endurance right now. With the right fuel and the right training, I think I can speed this self up. At least I hope I can.

The real and constant challenge is balance balance balance. Sleep/food/training/work/family (friends are pretty limited for a while--sorry!).

I think I just needed to say it out loud. I hope it pays off.

  1. Go, go go! You can do anything for 8 weeks. I'm trying to recommit just to working on running speed and keeping up with Masters' swimming... Are you doing the Goofy challenge this year? I will be there for the half at least. It will seem like nothing after all this other stuff.
